Thankful Thimble Thursday: Sunny Days

It may be winter, but that doesn't mean the sun can't shine.

And that makes Thimble one happy little ladycat.

So, are we blinding you yet?

Not even those ears can block out a good ol' dose of bright winter sun.

It's even toasty enough that a sun puddle nap might very well be in order.

Yep. Definitely time for a nap. Zzzzzzzzzz.

Are our furiends all having some lovely winter sun? Thimble sure loves her sun. And it's that gorgeous sun and the warm naps it provides for which Thimble gives thanks today in Brian's Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.

And, for those times when the sun dares set, Thimble is thankful for warm and cozy blankets.

Warm wishes to everybuddy!

Our Tip of the Day:
Especially in the winter, keep in the mind that a cat or dog's instinct is often to burrow down in order to stay warm. In the wild, animals learn to use their own radiating body heat to stay warm. For this reason, make sure that your furbaby has napping spots where they can do just that. Use pet beds with raised edges, or set out a box with a blanket in it. You can even just place a blanket on your bed, or on the couch or a pillow, building the blanket's edges up to create a perfect place for your kitty or pup to burrow down and stay warm. And of course don't forget the warmth and fun that blanket forts can offer! Also, don't forget that, as  mentioned in previous tips, this all especially goes for those furbabies who have difficulty maintaining their own body heat, such as the geriatric, ailing, or hairless.

Thimble looks so cute enjoying her sun puddle. Great drawing of her keeping warm too. And as always, excellent tip. We have the warm stuff covered with 2 heating pads on low and 2 electric throws on low too. And lots of blankets all over the furniture.

You look lovely in the sun, Thimble. And although your ears aren't as big as Devi's, they certainly look as expressive! We are also thankful for warm blankies. Being hairless, we spend a lot of time burrowed under layers of warm fleece blankets or crocheted afghans!

WE not only had sun but the weather was warm enough to have open windows! But then it started cooling down and we might rain all weekend!
