This Mancat Monday is extra special, as I'm sure you know, as it's also the 4th of July! And so, Evan and all of us here want to wish everybuddy a happy 4th of July!
We hope all of our US furiends are enjoying this patriotic holiday, with plenty of fun and festivities to honor our country's freedom! Please be safe as well! (And of course we wish a happy day to all of our non-US furiends as well!)

Our Tip of the Day:We've mentioned keeping your furbabies safe on the 4th of July by keeping them inside, most especially when fireworks are going off. We also discussed helping them ignore the bright and loud fireworks by shutting blinds and playing music, and distracting them with toys and treats. Today's tip, though, goes in a different direction. If your furbaby proves to be afraid of fireworks and they don't seem capable of ignoring them or being distracted, sometimes simply letting them hide somewhere safe within the house is the best hing you can. In many cases, especially when it comes to our felines, a furbaby will simply want to hide. What's more, sometimes trying to force your furbaby to stay out and about at a time like this will only serve to make matters worse, to make your furbaby more scared and anxious. If this seems to be the case with your furbaby, it may be best to simply ensure that they have a safe place, such as behind a couch or beneath a bed, to hide and feel out of harm's way.

The kitties here really don't get scared at the noises either, but your tip is good advice to just let them hide if they're scared.

Thank you for that great tip! Our Mom made us a super secret fort for us to spend the day and evening in. It has all our favorite toys, blankets, and treats and later, Mom will join us and read our favorite cat books to us. Have a great day!
