Here we are at the Twelfth Day of Christmas. The holiday season is indeed winding down, but we only have, what, 350 more days until the next one?
Honestly, though, we can make it Christmas all year round by staying in that joyful and festive spirit every day! Sounds easy peasy, right? That being said, although we might not always be all that great at it, around here we really do try to be in the giving and happy spirit of Christmas every day. We try to always be grateful for all that we have, for the food on our table and the roof over our heads, and of course for our family and friends. We sure try with all our might to be cheery and even a tad bit festive each and every day. That way, Christmas is never really over!
Of course, we can also be a bit more superficial and materialistic and admit that Christmas also leaves us with gifts that we can enjoy even after the holiday season comes to an end. And if we're to be totally honest, that's what Thimble and I have come here to do today.
Do you remember how, in some of our past posts, Thimble has shown off her role as the resident librarian? We have a small little library room here, and Thimble loves to hang out around the bookshelves and up on her favorite desk (which also happens to be a favorite of Thimble's mommy here, but I guess that's a totally moot point right now). Anyway, this mommy of Thimble's got something new and completely pawesome for Christmas, and it fits in purrfectly with our library!
I first saw these bookends over on the always amazing blog of Mudpie and mom Melissa. Never lacking in fun and festivities, Mudpie and Melissa had a post featuring Christmas gift ideas for cat lovers. I pretty much fell in love with every item on that list, but for me these bookends were on a level all of their own. I love cats, and I love to read, and I have more books than will fit on any reasonable number of bookshelves (call me a book hoarder, because I am). So, what better than kitty bookends?!? And I guess my parents got that message, because there they were under the Christmas tree.
Even better, the bookends are Thimble approved!
Pardon the blur. Finding kitty bookends on her favorite library desk turned Thimble into, well, Eddy.
Moving on, we now of course have our last Twelve Day of Christmas drawing. It stars none other than Thimble, the festive drummer drumming.
A very merry Twelfth Day of Christmas to everybuddy!
And, of course, given that we are so very thankful for friends like all of you, for our family, for the beautiful Christmas season, for good books (especially those held up by kitty bookends!), and for all the joys with which we are blessed, we are also entering this post in Brian's Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.
Happy Thursday to all!

Our Tip of the Day:Don't forget our past tips about our furbabies and their heightened sense of hearing. Blasting the radio or the TV could potentially be bothersome to your furbaby, due to their skillful ears. Also keep this in mind if you yourself play an instrument. Drums, a trumpet, a piano, or any musical instrument could potentially be a bit pesky to a dog or cat who can hear far better than us humans. Though some dogs and cats might tolerate sound well, others might be especially adverse to it. For this reason, always make sure that your furbaby has a quiet area of the house, somewhere they can spend time while us humans practice our loud habits. They'll thank you for it!

We are very thankful for all of you. We love all the drawing and just hearing about your activities. Those book ends are just terrific. Nothing better than a good book to read. Thimble, you are looking mighty good.
Those are pawsome bookends!
We love those bookends too! We hope they remained where they are despite Thimble's interest.
Those are great bookends, such a special gift. And the 2 books they are holding are awesome. Adorable drawing of Thimble too. I don't want the season to end or these drawings. We try to keep the music and tv down for the kitties.
Yes, those bookends are cool but we are really fans of Thimble! Thanks for joining the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
Perfect book ends for favorite cat books! Thimble is a very cute tabby.
Maggie< Mickey Mouser, and Rufus the Red
Very nice bookends
Oh, I'm so excited that you got them...and a little jealous too! (LOL, just kidding!) They are just exquisite, aren't they? And I love the book selection you're showing them off with too :)
Jan keeps trying to pare down her books but hates to part with any more, so we still have lots. Like the bookends.
What a lovely celebration of cats -helping cats, reading cats and rubbing cats!
Happy Thankful Thursday!
