Friendly Fill-Ins

Happy Friday, friends! You've nearly reached the weekend. A congratulations is certainly in order. On top of that, how about we celebrate with the Friendly Fill-Ins challenge? If you'd like to participate but missed the fill-in statements yesterday, I'll share them again here. Ellen of 15andmeowing came up with the first two, and I came up with the second two.

1. I know I am sick when _________.

2. For St. Patrick's Day, I _________.

3. It's been a long time since _________.

4. In order to _________, you have to _________.

My answers are below in bold.

1. I know I am sick when I lose my appetite.
(I have a bottomless pit for a stomach. I love food. That's why, when I lose my desire to eat, I know something's off. Luckily, this doesn't happen often.)

2. For St. Patrick's Day, I feast on Dublin coddle.
(Dublin coddle, also called Irish coddle or simply just coddle, is a traditional Irish stew. It includes ingredients like sausage, potatoes, carrots, and other yummy goodness, and I love it. I can't take credit for eating this on St. Patrick's Day, though. My mom cooks it up. She also makes a variety of cabbage dishes on St. Patrick's Day, but my taste buds are quite opposed to cabbage, so I feast solely on the delicious Dublin coddle.)

3. It's been a long time since I've gone to the bathroom unsupervised.
(I live with 6 cats. My days of privacy are over.)

4. "In order to learn, you have to be ignorant."
(The above is a quote I recently stumbled upon. It stems from the author Robert Anton Wilson. I don't know much about him or his works, but I still find this quote of his to be very intriguing. The concept of ignorance often holds negative connotations, but if you think of it in the way of this quote, you realize that without ignorance you can never truly learn. The meaning behind this quote certainly got me thinking.)

It's time for you Friday Eddy fix! I recently managed to get a handful of decent shots of Eddy, by some miraculous miracle. The one I'm sharing today is far from perfect. The lighting isn't right, the angle isn't right, and a lot about it simply shows my lack of skills as a photographer. That being said, I still love this photo of Eddy. I love how it shows off her eyes, and her whiskers, and her adorable face overall.

Eddy and all of us here wish you a fabulous Friday!

Doodle of the Day

We're continuing our springtime series sets in a weird and wacky little house. Today's doodle is set in the home's indoor garden room. I wanted to call it a greenhouse or conservatory, but I'm fairly certain it doesn't qualify as that. So, indoor garden room it is.

Tip of the Day

We have yet more random safety tips for National Pet Poison Awareness Month. Today's tip is to keep that hand sanitizer out of the reach of your furbabies. Hand sanitizer contains alcohol, which means that, especially if ingested in large enough quantities, it can indeed lead to alcohol poisoning. More than likely, hand sanitizer will neither smell nor taste enticing to your kitty or pup. But, some furbabies may simply have strange or unprejudiced tastes, and so keeping any potentially toxic items out of their reach is of course crucial. Keep this in mind not only when it comes to hand sanitizer. Some items can contain toxic ingredients that you might not expect, and some furbabies might not be picky about what they put in their mouths. So, never leave anything questionable within their reach, because it is indeed always better to be safe than sorry.

Ha! You've obviously envisioned Manny up on the counter, trying to get at the wheatgrass that The Hubby is sprouting!

I answered #1 in a similar way. Everybody knows I am sick if I decline food!
#3: I feel you! We just have two dogs and one cat, but the results are the same.
Have a wonderful weekend!

Great answers. I like that quote, very true. I am a bottomless pit too unless I am sick. I was quite disappointed to find out I only lost one pound from my recent illness. That coddle sounds a lot better than corned beef. Eddy is adorable, that is a good shot of her. Cute doodle and excellent tips. Have a nice weekend and stay healthy. XO
