Thoroughly Poetic Thankful Thimble Thursday

Who here is ready for Thanksgiving? Are you excited for some turkey? After all, Turkey Day is just one week away!

For today, though, things are as normal. That means today we have a poem to share with you as part of Angel Sammy and Teddy's Thoroughly Poetic Thursday challenge.

This week, we've reached the letter W. If you've been following our poems throughout this challenge, you might have an idea of what we have in store.

Wally the Weatherman

How's the weather up there?
Is it sunny and fair?
Is there a nip in the air?
Or is it snowing enough to suit a polar bear?

If it's the weather you need to know,
Just tune in to Wally's weather show.
He can tell you if you can expect buckets of rain,
Or whether a snowstorm might delay your train.

Wally can tell you the weather for this afternoon.
He will know if your evening picnic might be ruined by a typhoon.
Wally the Weatherman can also look into the future,
And will tell you if your weekend plans the weather will butcher.

Whether the sun is shining,
Or whether there is thunder and lightning,
Wally the Weatherman is your guy.
After all, he knows all that goes on in those clouds in the sky.

As always, we were inspired by a real life Wally. To visit him, just lick there on his name! And, as always again, here is the doodle we created for Wally the Weatherman(cat):

Now, of course, it is Thimble's turn to star in this Thursday post. Thimble was all set up for a photo shoot recently, but she ended up having competition.

Do  you see that? Thimble's silly human of a mom put a scarecrow in Thimble's modeling station. What's up with that? Don't worry, though, Thimble took care of it.

No more competition.

Thimble is entering her happy freedom from that scarecrow into Brian's Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.

Moreover, we are grateful for all of our blessings. We are thankful for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday, when we can celebrate all for which we are grateful. We are thankful for our family, and for the wonderful friends we have in all of you.

Happy Thursday to all!

Our Tip of the Day:
As we approach Thanksgiving, for the past couple of days we have been discussing vegetables and which of those at Thanksgiving dinner are and are not healthy to feed your furbaby. One we have not mentioned yet is corn. There is some debate out there on corn, and whether or not it provides much beneficial nutrition for cats and dogs. While corn in small amounts may not cause much or any harm to your furbaby, it is also believed that corn is not the best type of food for your furbaby to consume. Many studies have determined that corn is not a great source of energy for furbabies, and does not offer all that many nutritional benefits. It is often used in pet foods since it is a generally cheap grain, but at the same time, corn can contribute to food allergies in cats and dogs. That all being said, as long as your furbaby is not allergic, a small amount of corn will not necessarily harm your pup or kitty. But, of course, do try to hold off on allowing your kitty or pup to chow down on a substantial amount of this debated vegetable.

Is that an open window we see, Thimble? We haven't had any window whiffies around here for a few weeks. :)

And Wally says he's not sure if he's the best weatherman, but he's honored to be the subject of your terrific poem this week!

You guys make me laugh! I am impressed that you got Walley as your weatherman...I'm not too sure about the guy on the morning news here in Vancouver...Mike tells really bad joke!
And I LOVE your poem.
BTW, I, Marvelous like beets! Yes it surprised Mommy when she was making borscht, I attacked and ate a couple of pieces that fell of the cutting board and onto the floor!

Whoa Hoo! I've actually met Wally in PURRSON! And now to read a terrific poem about him...ooh, I feel happy! Love the doodle, and back when I was debating using different cat litter, a friend told me to avoid the corn-based ones, because her cats were EATING IT...lol!

SO that is what Wally is doing :) Excellent poem and drawing. We are big fans of Wally and his siblings. Thimble is a cutie and I am glad she got rid of that scarecrow. I have one like that and it can't be near the cats, they try to eat the straw or whatever that is on his arms. Good tip too although Sammy doesn't agree, he loves his corn on the cob during the summer.

Your little friend is quite cute, Thimble! Did you whack it out of the way? Wally would make a purrfect weathercat :)

Whoa! Didn't know that about Wally. Hope he brings us a warmer than normal winter. They put tons of corn into kibble which is why TW doesn't want me eating it although she feels better about grain free.

What a GREAT Wally the Weatherman poem. We bet Wally will love it too and Angel Sammy and I appreciate that you have been doing his Poetic Challenges every week with such FUN poems and doodles. We hope everyone has a great "pre-turkey-day" week ahead!

Great "W" poem for Wally. We don't blame you, Thimble, for not liking being photobombed by a scarecrow. If you'd like, Lisbeth will come by and throw it on the floor for you! XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo and Cooper Murphy
