Did you know studies have found that allergies are less likely to manifest in children who are exposed to cats at a young age, such as when the child is less than a year old? Indeed, early exposure to kitties can potentially save a child from a life with a variety of allergies. When discussing studies on this matter, Marshall Plaut, M.D., who is with the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease, said, "High pet exposure early in life appears to protect against not only pet allergy but also other types of common allergies, such as allergy to dust mites, ragweed, and grass."
