Friendly Fill-Ins

Happy Friday! Who's ready for the weekend? Before we get there, let's have a little fun with the Friendly Fill-Ins challenge. In case you missed the fill-in statements yesterday, I'll share them again here. Ellen of 15andmeowing came up with the first two, and I came up with the second two.

1. A benefit of _________ is _________.

2. Sometimes one needs to _________.

3. I'm most likely to become famous for _________.

4. _________ is a current trend that makes no sense to me.

My answers are in bold below. Again, I made sure they were all about the furbabies this week.

1. A benefit of sharing your life with a furry friend is unconditional love.
(I'm certain every single one of you already knows this.)

2. Sometimes one needs to cuddle a cat.
(When I've had a long or tough day at work, or when I simply don't want to face adulthood, I just cuddle a cat. It feels like a legitimate need sometimes. Best medicine ever. I'd also take puppy cuddles.)

3. I'm most likely to become famous for my cats.
(I plaster my cats' faces all over the internet, because that's the kind of parent I am. If they ever get famous from it, I'd be totally fine with that.)

4. Scaring cats with cucumbers is a current trend that makes no sense to me.
(I'm not sure this is a common trend anymore, but videos of it sure were showing up in my social media feed not too long ago. For those who might not know, I'm referring to the trend of people finding it funny to scare their cats by putting a cucumber behind the cat when he or she is not expecting it. When the cat turns around, it then suddenly notices the strange object behind it and gets scared. In many of the videos, the cat jumps sky high or runs off full speed. I myself don't find it funny to scare my cats, or to see any animals scared, especially not for entertainment purposes.)

Ready for Eddy? Actually, Eddy didn't even show her face today. I gave her some treats to help her sit still, but I gave them to her next to a window, and that meant squirrels and birds were being all distracting outside, and that meant Eddy had no time or interest to look at a silly camera.

Eddy and all of us here wish you a Friday filled with all of your favorite things! If that means treats and a window view, then all the better.

Doodle of the Day: Flashback Friday

Tuesday's flashback doodle was one of the first ones I created of Tonks. Tonks's sister Winky owns this here human's sister, and they live with us. It only seemed right to have today's flashback doodle be an early one I scribbled up of Winky, since she joined the family at the same time Tonks did. Tonks's flashback doodle starred her as a little wizard, which seemed fitting since I'm wrapping up a Harry Potter-esque series of doodles. Today, in Winky's flashback doodle, she's also going all magical and is trying her hand at stirring up a potion.

Who'd like a taste of that? It's glowing, green, and we have literally no idea what it does. So, any takers?

Did you know?
Did you know that some black cats can sometimes appear brownish in color essentially due to fading from the sun? Indeed, black cats who spend a extreme amounts of time in the sun might start displaying what appears to be fading of their black fur to a more brownish color. Another reason a black cat might appear more brown is if they are low in tyrosine, which is an amino acid that essentially helps a black cat's coat stay black. Adding more tyrosine to the diet, such as by supplementing it, can help a cat with a faded, brown coat again appear more black. Of course, changes in coat as well as adding any supplements to the diet should first be discussed with a veterinarian.

That is sad....why would anyone scare a cat with a cucumber or scare an animal with anything?

Have a great day and weekend.

Tonks, whatever you've got in that beaker, at least it's a pretty shade of green! LOL! In some lighting, I can tell that Sweetie's fur is more of a deep red-brown...she's an older kitty, so I'm no worried about her amino acid levels, but thanks for that info.

Love your fill-ins and I hadn't thought about the scaring cats with cucumbers. Not nice at all.

Thank you for co-hosting the Friendly Fill-ins.

Have a fabulous day and weekend. ♥

Scaring cats with cucumbers is cruelty and should be reported. Disgusting!

Love your doodle and pics :)

Eddy, you have your view and treats. You don't need anything else for the day. We love your fill-in answers. The cucumber thing is something that gets us so mad. Thanks for the share. Have a wonderful upcoming weekend.

I agree with #4. The Aleppo cats actually have a cat who LOVES eating cucumber. MOL! Dunno what else those people do cos cats aren't scared of veggies unless we find them on our food.

Great answers. I remember seeing videos online of cats being scared by cucumbers. That is so cruel. I agree that cuddling with furbabies is the best medicine. Nice flashback drawing. And Eddy is clearly very busy :) Have a nice weekend! XO

Great answers! I had to "borrow" #4 for you...so incredibly stupid.

Let's hope you do become famous for your cats and cat and dog doodles.

Those cucumber videos have always bothered me, why someone wants to scare a cat is beyond me.

The cucumber videos were so weird!

The cucumber thing is absolutely ridiculous! I saw one of those videos by mistake - didn't know it was someone trying to scare a cat which I certainly do NOT want to see! Humans are incredibly strange for other humans to figure out sometimes so imagine how tough it is for animals to figure us out................

Hugs, Pam

We don't blame you for not looking, Eddy. Squirrels and birds are much more important!
